Every year, St. John’s gives away 10-15% of its annual budget in gifts beyond our congregation.
St. John’s has relationships with many of Northfield’s community agencies providing health, education and housing services to our whole community. In 2017 our Benevolence Board identified four partnerships that we will deepen in the coming years as part of our 150th Anniversary celebration in 2019.
RAising College hopes
We will partner with the TORCH program of Northfield to help extend services to recent graduates of Northfield’s high school, providing first-generation college students the tools they need to succeed.
building community
St. John’s will partner with Laura Baker Services Association to build relationships with people with disabilities, using music, the arts and technology to close the gaps between us.
providing emergency and permanent housing
Through Habitat for Humanity’s Faith Builds program, St. John’s will provide funds and volunteers to build new permanent homes for low-income neighbors in Northfield.
Through the Community Action Center of Northfield, St. John’s will help create new emergency housing units for neighbors in dire need of a safe place to stay.
